HL Properties is a privately owned business. Tyson Hamilton is the owner, and he is a licensed general contractor and real estate agent.
The company was founded in 2016. At first, the focus was house flipping and complete remodels. Tyson was able to use his real estate license to buy and sell the homes for HL Properties himself. The first property that they acquired was purchased at an auction, and both the interior and exterior of the home were completely renovated. They were able to use the experience from that renovation to help determine cost effective ways to improve future remodels.
House flipping relies heavily on the fluctuations of the housing market though. Sometimes it can be difficult to find a home to purchase that will generate a profit once all the repairs have been completed. This is especially true when the inventory available in the area becomes scarce. After realizing this, the company decided to switch the focus to home renovations which are less affected by the housing market.
Tyson has enjoyed the transition to home renovations. It has allowed him to connect more with clients and personalize projects to each persons needs. He has also been able to tackle multiple projects at once and expand the company’s service area.
Tyson was born and raised in Kingston, TN which is just outside of Knoxville. That is where he currently lives with his wife and two children. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Business Management and is a loyal fan of the Vols.
